World AIDS Day Webinar: Tackling Health Inequities to Address Hepatitis Co-infection among People Living with HIV

Presenter Angela Johnson, NASTAD, Director, Prevention, addressed her role in providing support to 57 Phase 1 and southern Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) jurisdictions, as well as the intersection of viral hepatitis elimination with the federal Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative. Additionally, she emphasized the role of partnerships and multi-level collaboration in ending both epidemics. 

Presenters Trisha Melhado, Senior Research Scientist, Department of Medicine/Infectious Diseases, UT Health - San Antonio TACKLE Program; and Vittoria Criss, Hepatitis C Prevention Coordinator, Texas Department of State Health Services discussed a partnership between UT Health - San Antonio's TACKLE HIV/HCV in People of Color Program and Texas Department of State Health Services to improve prevention, care, treatment and cure of hepatitis C in people living with HIV in South Texas.
