Benefits & Best Practices: Leveraging E-Learning Modalities for HIV Prevention Programs
In partnership with the Urban Coalition for HIV/AIDS Prevention Services (UCHAPS), NASTAD hosted a webinar on November 7 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM EST focused on leveraging e-learning modalities for HIV prevention programs. The webinar featured discussion about the benefits to health departments of leveraging online technical assistance platforms as a vehicle for capacity building. As health departments seek more cost-effective methods to build capacity, modern systems that optimize efficacy without sacrificing quality required further exploration.
Health departments have novel opportunities to engage targeted populations with mechanisms that prioritize value and emphasize impact. This webinar examined the benefits of electronic technical assistance in relation to the unique needs of health departments across the nation.
Following this webinar, participants were equipped to:
- Understand fundamental competencies behind e-learning modalities of technical assistance that optimize efficacy, reduce waste, and prioritize needed support
- Operationalize best practices among health department staff to more accurately meet the needs of target populations within a specific jurisdiction
- Disseminate lessons learned with interested parties and continue identifying gaps that may arise with implementation or staff uptake
