On November 30, NASTAD hosted a webinar, “Program Evaluation – Just the Basics.”

This webinar provided a basic overview of program evaluation. It covered the importance of evaluation on the success of a program, common misconceptions about evaluation, and different kinds of evaluation commonly used by HIV prevention programs. 

Topics discussed were the general principles and key components of program evaluation processes using CDC’s framework for program evaluation, practical examples of evaluation tools including SMARTIE objectives, and logic models. 

Attendees also heard from to two peer presenters – Dr. Jennifer Scott, Director of Programs at Abounding Prosperity, and Dr. Roxanne Kerani, Research Associate Professor at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine.
