Webinar: Strategies for HCV Testing and Linkage to Care in and from Jail

Hepatitis C cannot be eliminated in the United States without reaching groups that are most impacted by the epidemic. Incarcerated or formerly incarcerated individuals bear a disproportionate burden of HCV with current estimates putting the prevalence in jails and prisons between 12 and 35 percent. Despite the high prevalence, most inmates with chronic HCV are unaware of their status. Screening and linking incarcerated individuals to care while incarcerated or upon release is essential to ensure they have access to a cure. This webinar explored strategies for HCV testing and linkage to care for people currently in or transitioning from jail.
