Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an important evidence-based prevention tool that could dramatically decrease new HIV infections. However, full uptake of this intervention has remained elusive. While there are many components of comprehensive PrEP programming – including community education, client outreach, and provider education – we are focused on addressing the financing challenges of PrEP and ancillary services. Resources below provide information and best practices to finance PrEP, including considerations for Medicaid and insurance coverage as well as public health financing.
