From 2003 to 2015, NASTAD Botswana provided technical assistance to Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLG&RD), National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA), and Ministry of Health (MOH). NASTAD’s TA specifically helped strengthen the objectivity, structure, and focus of the district planning process by ensuring the use of evidence in all HIV and AIDS district planning processes and the integration and coordination of programs, stakeholders, and resources at different levels. Beginning in 2001, NASTAD Ethiopia worked collaboratively with the Federal Ministry of Health, Federal HAPCO, Regional Health Bureaus, and Regional HAPCOs to create sustainable improvements in the government health care system’s response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Read more


In Mozambique, NASTAD provided technical assistance (TA) and capacity building support to CDC-Mozambique and the Mozambique Ministry of Health (MISAU) at Provincial and District levels to improve the government and local partners’ ability to conduct essential public health management functions to control the HIV epidemic in support of an AIDS-free generation. South Africa

NASTAD South Africa worked in collaboration with South African Provincial Departments of Health (PDoHs) to expand and enhance their HIV and AIDS care, treatment and prevention programs by providing technical assistance and support for program design, implementation, management, coordination and monitoring and evaluation.

NASTAD Global collaborated with Tanzania’s Ministry of Health, National AIDS Control Program, and CDC-Tanzania to conduct a review of the Home Based Care Services (HBCS) program in Tanzania.

From 2014 to 2016, NASTAD Global program partnered with the Uganda Ministry of Health (MoH) and CDC to improve district-level engagement and capacity to plan for and manage the HIV and AIDS programmatic response to achieve sustained control of the HIV epidemic and meet the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets.

NASTAD Zambia worked in partnership with CDC-Zambia, NAC, and the University of Zambia (UNZA) as part of a technical assistance and capacity building initiative. NASTAD Zambia worked hand-in-hand with the NAC to assess, design, implement, and support a decentralized national Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system.
