Request for Proposals: Translation Services


NASTAD is currently seeking the services of a professional translators for translation of a protocol and study tools from English into French and Haitian Creole. The service provider shall be an individual or an institution with relevant academic qualifications and professional experience as outlined below. 

Scope of Activities

Provide various translation related tasks from English-to-French or Haitian Creole, including revision, and proofreading services that would ensure the best possible quality level of translated documents and materials and technical content. This includes translation, revision and proof-reading of the protocol and study tools, any other documents as required usually with a rapid turnaround time and without subsequent revision by another translator. 

Proposal Instructions

Proposals should reasonably address the following areas which will be viewed as primary selection criteria. Proposals should consist of no more than two pages. 

  • Pricing details 
  • Specific experience 1)Perfect mastery of the mother tongues (French/Haitian Creole) and excellent knowledge of English (University degree or higher); 2) Proficiency in methods and techniques specific to translation (qualification in translation, applied linguistics or related field); 3) Specialized knowledge of Public health and HIV/AIDS is a strong asset; 4) Experience in doing translations for other PEPFAR supported programs or partners is an asset; 5) Good communication skills, analytical skills and sensitivity to the cultural context and the target audience. 
  • Availability to complete the translation services in specified timeline and flexibility required to work under pressure and to meet short deadlines.
