NASTAD TA is:
  • Consumer-driven: based on the stated needs of the requesting entity
  • Delivered in Diverse Ways: through on-site consultation, regional and national meetings, electronic and telephone networking, and written materials and profiles
  • Fully-supported: NASTAD supports the participation of the peers in NASTAD-sponsored TA events
  • Coordinated: NASTAD helps link all parties involved in the assistance
Because TA is consumer driven and peer-based it is delivered by health department peers with broad and comprehensive experience in HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis programs. NASTAD program-focused has been delivered on:

Domestic Care and Treatment

  • ADAP
  • Title II
  • Medicare Part D
  • Planning
Peer-based assistance with ADAP programs, including cost effectiveness strategies, program management, and quality control initiatives. NASTAD also provides on-going networking support through ADAP and Title II listservs as well as peer referrals on Title II programming and planning. Customized, in-depth assistance on specific legislative mandates such as the impact on ADAP from Medicare Part D or implementation of the Ryan White CARE Act Reauthorization are a focus.

On-site and networking support on all aspects of prevention programs is available. Recent NASTAD peer TA has been delivered on restructuring planning, integrated care-prevention planning, surveillance, rapid testing, prevention strategies for injection drug users, EBIs, and PCRS.

TA to support peer-to-peer exchange on viral hepatitis integration into HIV/AIDS and STD programs, as well as immunization initiatives and integration of viral hepatitis into planning are supported.
