NASTAD Comments on Medicaid Benefits and Cost Sharing Rule
2/21/2013 | Source: NASTAD - The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a proposed regulation on benefits requirements for the Medicaid expansion population in 2014, new cost-sharing rules for Medicaid, and Medicaid and Exchange appeals and eligibility coordination. NASTAD provided comments to the proposed regulation, highlighting the need for benefits requirements and cost-sharing protections that meet the care and treatment needs of people living with HIV and viral hepatitis.

Preparing HIV/AIDS Programs and Providers for ACA Implementation: Indiana

NASTAD presented a health reform update focused on what health reform implementation will mean for HIV providers and consumers in Indiana. The meeting - which involved health department staff and case managers from all over the state - also included a facilitated discussion and planning session on what case managers can do to prepare for upcoming health systems changes.

NASTAD Comments on Essential Health Benefits

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a proposed regulation implementing the Essential Health Benefits (EHB) requirements for private insurance plans sold in the small group and individual markets in 2014. NASTAD provided comments to the proposed regulation, highlighting the need for benefits requirements that meet the care and treatment needs of peoplel living with HIV and viral hepatitis.

Webinar: The Supreme Court Decision and What it Means for Health Care Reform Implementation
7/17/2012 | Source: NASTAD - On June 28, 2012, the United States Supreme Court released its much-awaited decision on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The Court upheld the ACA, but its holding presents some challenges for full implementation of the Medicaid expansion. NASTAD convened a webinar on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 to provide an overview of the decision, with a focus on the implications for the Medicaid expansion and access to care for people living with HIV.   This webinar also discussed next steps for state implementation efforts and devoted time at the end of the presentation to answer questions about the decision
