Welcome new and seasoned ADAP Coordinators! The focus of the ADAP page is to provide a complete set of introductory information to the ADAP program.  Through this page, ADAP coordinators are able to:

National HIV/AIDS Strategy
The Obama Administration released the National HIV/AIDS Strategy on July 14, 2010.  NASTAD sent a letter to Jeff Crowley, Director of the Office of National AIDS Policy at the White House, about the newly released strategy.  In the letter, NASTAD congratulated Crowley and the Obama Administration for the successful launch of the strategy and stated, "As major implementing partners in this plan, NASTAD members are eager to engage in a meaningful, sustained and dynamic relationship that ensures the strategy maintains credibility, accountability and ultimately proves successful in meeting the goals of the Strategy."

Webinar on ADAP Quality Management
In partnership with HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau and the National Quality Center, NASTAD hosted a webinar to provide ADAP coordinators an overview on key quality management concepts focused on ADAPs. The webinar also provided an overview of HRSA/HAB’s Clinical Performance Measures as well as introduced three recently developed ADAP Quality Management Tutorials.

 
ADAP Clinical Quality Management Tutorial One
This Tutorial has been developed by NASTAD and NQC to assist ADAP grantees as they implement quality improvement efforts. In this Tutorial, we will define quality as well as quality improvement in the context of ADAP initiatives included in the Ryan White Program. The Tutorial will provide a review of quality improvement as relates to ADAP and finally review some helpful resources for ADAP grantees.

 
ADAP Clinical Quality Management Tutorial Two
This Tutorial will highlight some key components to developing an ADAP quality management plan with ADAP specific examples. This Tutorial will also explore ways ADAP quality measures can be incorporated into a larger Ryan White Part B or HIV Care quality management plan.

ADAP Drug Pricing and ADAP Crisis Task Force
The ADAP Crisis Task Force negotiates with pharmaceutical companies for additional rebates and discounts and has achieved more than $1 billion in savings for ADAPs since its inception in 2003.  This paper provides details of ADAP drug pricing and the ADAP Crisis Task Force agreements with companies.

    ADAP Emergency Preparedness Guide
    This guide is intended to assist AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAP) that function within state health or social service departments to prepare emergency plans in response to possible disasters; in particular, the guide’s provisions are intended to ensure continued access to HIV medications for individuals served by ADAP. The guide should be used in collaboration with existing emergency plans of state health departments or broader state governmental agencies.
