Member and Staff Updates

In member updates, Humberto Cruz announced that he will be retiring in April. Dan O’Connell will be acting as Director of the New York State AIDS Institute after Humberto retires. In addition, Ralph Wilmoth announced that he will be leaving Kansas to become the STD/HIV Section Chief with the Arkansas Department of Health, beginning in April. Brenda Walker, Director of the Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, will be the acting director of the HIV/AIDS Section in Kansas.
 
In staff news, Francisco Ruiz is leaving NASTAD on April 2 to become Lead Public Health Analyst (Policy/Partnership) with the Prevention Communications Branch within the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP) at CDC, where he will provide leadership and direction for partnerships initiatives to advance the mission of DHAP/CDC.
